01:57 pm Autumn is over the long leaves that love us, And over the mice in the barley sheaves; Yellow the leaves of the rowan above us, And yellow the wet wild-strawberry leaves. The hour of the waning of love has beset us, And weary and worn are our sad souls now; Let us patt, ere the season of passion forget us, With a kiss and a tear on thy drooping brow.
-William Butler Yeats
Always good to know I'm not the only one who far prefers summer to the colder months. Scenically they're beautiful, but in reality, it's just cold and dark and a bit dead, really.

[Hexed to the Order] My compliments to the Weasleys for hosting a rather brilliant celebration. Ron and Hermione were very lucky to have such a party! I can't say I wouldn't have wanted something so large when I made prefect. Though having most of my guests be old people who fought in some war would probably get rather boring, wouldn't it? I'm only teasing, of course. I'm just sorry Sturgis had to miss it, but someone had to take duty tonight and I can honestly say I'm glad it wasn't me.
And Sirius, don't think just because the kids aren't here anymore that you're getting out of helping me get this basement in order, either. [/Hex]
Here's hoping for a great school year. I know most students wouldn't believe it, but I'd love to be going back to school. Most of my favourite memories are there. Good luck, students, and make sure to treasure it, even if lessons get hard on you or you find yourself in the Ministry's in trouble.

02:37 pm - Hexed to the Order When I said I wanted Harry here, I didn't mean like this.
We're going to be able to get him, at least. He's got to be worried enough without being there with that family of his. They can't help him through it, obviously. Dumbledore says he'll be able to get him out of it but what if he can't?. Expelling him would be the most foolish thing the Ministry could do, but then, they're foolish right now either way. I wouldn't believe this behaviour if I weren't witnessing it for myself.
I was right about a couple of other things, at least. One? Having kids in the house cheers it up considerably. And two, Molly's going to have the place spotless right in front of my eyes. It actually helps take your mind off of things, really, monotonous cleaning. I can't say I mind it. Now if only Sirius--

01:11 am Bit strange being back in London. I was never one for big cities, really. Manchester has always been plenty big enough. There are wonderful parts, don't get me wrong. The history is so rich here, so full of amazing tales and architecture. But it's terribly crowded and some people can get rather pushy. It makes shopping at the market about a million times less pleasant.
